
Spiced Tea
Ingredients
- 4 bags of tea bags or 4 tsp tea leaves
- 500 ml evaporated milk/UHT
- 8 grains cardamom
- 5 grains cloves
- 1 tsp ground black peppercorns
- 5 pieces star anise
- 3 cm ginger, smacked
- 4 cm cinnamon
- 1/4 nutmeg, smacked
- 3 tbsp palm sugar
- 1 liter water
Cooking Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, then add cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, nutmeg, and star anise.
- Cook over low heat until the water has reduced by one-quarter, then turn off the heat. Add the tea bags or tea leaves and let it steep for a few minutes until the tea dissolves. Strain the mixture and add palm sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Heat the milk (do not let it boil), then whisk with a wire whisk or fork until smooth and foamy.
- Prepare 4 serving glasses and pour in the tea, then add the frothy milk. Serve warm.
