
Mama’s Steamed Rice
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1 carrot, sliced and chopped into small pieces
- 150 g chicken thigh fillet, cut into small pieces
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 liter broth (refer to the broth recipe in the drink menu)
- A little oil for sautéing (optional - olive oil)
- Soy sauce to taste
- Sweet soy sauce to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
- Sauté the garlic until fragrant, then add the onion and chicken pieces. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well until the chicken changes color.
- Add the rice and gradually pour in the broth, stirring continuously over low heat until it thickens and the rice begins to expand. Add the carrot pieces, stir to combine, then add sweet soy sauce and adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Once the flavor is to your liking, transfer to a steamer pot and steam for approximately 30 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes to make sure the rice cook evenly.
