Humans utilize carbohydrates as the body&#8217;s main source of energy. There are two types of carbohydrates: simple and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates are digested faster and can be found in foods such as sugar and syrup. Complex carbohydrates are considered a better choice since they contain more nutrients for the body.<\/p>\n<p>Simple carbohydrates provide short-term energy for the body and may cause a spike in glucose. This spike can lead to cravings for sweets. That is why simple carbohydrates are often considered a trigger for diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>Option for carbohydrates that have high fiber content, such as brown rice, whole grain bread, and beans.
